text

We welcome Eve of Christmas, Beloved chorus dear: Rememb’ring well creation Of God who knows no peer, When all came into being Grown tall on earthly sphere. We welcome Eve of Christmas As snow-frost crests the year.

We sing this Eve of Christmas, Our fam’ly gather’d round: Rememb’ring well the promise Of Christ Child earthly bound, When shepherds, angels, wise men Came forth to holy ground. We sing this Eve of Christmas For infant newly crowned.

We pray this Eve of Christmas Bright blessings for our kin: Rememb’ring well the fire Of Holy Ghost come in, For safety, warmth, and humor For spirits cleansed of sin. We pray this Eve of Christmas For all held dear within.

And now on Eve of Christmas, Full grown with faith and friends: Rememb’ring well our loved ones Whose story ever-wends, With Father, Child, and Spirit Whose love sure knows no ends. Rejoice on Eve of Christmas For heav’n that Christ portends.
