text

High wreaths of festive holly dressed

High wreaths of festive holly dressed An altar ‘plete with bounty laid: With patience we await our guest Whose coming we have long for prayed; Glory now to all on high: Christ child, our balm and welcome aid!

High psalmists tones we once perceived A story first by prophets tolled: Collected words in tomes received Redeemer we will soon behold. Glory now to all on high: Christ child, Messiah, long foretold!

High heav’ns above in wonder crowned With golden light where pure doves fly: In flooded world was Noah found When promised bow adorned the sky. Glory now to all on high: Christ child, true sun of Adonai!

High cheers of laughter made this day In Yuletide’s wondrous, deckéd hall, Rememb’ring she who once held sway With radiant spirit, dear to all. Glory now to all on high: Christ child, our hope and brightest ray.
